Now here's an interesting development. Toyota Kirloskar Motor has said that the Qualis's successor, the Innova, will not compete for space in the MUV / MPV segment, but will give current occupants of the new crossover segment like the Fusion something to think about.

We are basically a family of Three, though most short journeys include an extended family. After a lot of Vacillation had Zeroed in on the Toyota Innova, VVT-I Version ( Top end Model ).
For a little more back ground info, would like to add, that being an Offshore Employee, the Vehicle would only possibly running 10 Kms / day the month that i'm away at work. with possibly a daily running of approximately 30 - 40 Kms / day the month that i'm in town. Have zeroed in on the Innova and booked the Petrol version, as we would as a family like tour India by road, during the Kid's vacations and feel that it would be a very comfortable Vehicle to travel in.
Being a regular reader of Autocar and Overdrive magazines, do go through the road Tests conducted by them on the Various vehicles, do also view the Autocar Speed show and the Car & Bike show to keep myself abreast of the latest offerings.
While viewing last night's episode of the Autocar speed show, heard your comments on a Viewer's query comparing the Innova to the Scorpio and the Tavera, that you had a preference / Recommended the Innova Diesel version than the Petrol one.
As i'm one of the early birds to book the Innova VVT-I , may not have the comfort of going through next month's issues of both the Autocar and Overdrive where a detailed road test has been promised, to help me make the decision between the Petrol and Diesel versions.
Hence request you to mail me in detail, if possible the reasons for your recommending the Diesel version over the petrol one. Another cause of concern would be the Efficiency of the Engines and A/c given the Kerb weight of the vehicle Vis a Vis the engine capacities. Regular Maintenance outgoings etc.
Would highly appreciate your advise keeping in view my needs of Vehicle best suited to my needs.
Thanking you in anticipation.

Hi Kamran,
Thanks for stopping b and leaving a comment. Here's a piece of advice - head on over to Team-BHP.com and pose your question to the bunch there. If anybody knows their cars, it's those guys. :-)
Happy SUV shopping!
