In the anticipation of a Palio D test drive sometime in the very near future, some homework was of the order. Running a Google on the phrase 'Fiat Palio Diesel' throws up some pretty interesting results. In keeping with the altruistic nature of this blog, here are some of those finds. =)
:: Indian users share their opinions on both the Palio Diesel and the various Palio Petrol variants (includes reviews of the NV, the Sport and the GTX) on MouthShut.com. (Registration required to read more than 3 reviews of each.)
:: A couple of news1 articles2 that appeared around the time that Fiat debuted their diesel offerings in the country. Lots of dope on the Fiat Palio D in case you're looking for technical specs, variants available and the like.
:: Business Standard Motoring have plenty to say both about the Palio 1.9 D and the Palio 1.2 NV. Did you know that NV stands for 'new version'?
:: And finally, BS Motoring squares off the petrol versions of the Tata Indica (the new, improved V2) and the Fiat Palio (the older, non-NV). For some reason, this page redirects to an obscure search page after its done loading. If you're quick enough to click your browser's 'Stop' button once the page loads, you should be able to read it. Otherwise, download the zipped .txt version of the article here.

hi,
palio great car to drive.solid built, solid feel, almost betters the opels,etc...
suspension to soft-gives smooth ride3-but wobbly at high speeds.
fuel gauge not reliable.
mileage 13kpl avg.
best metal (body work) on indian roads -just refuses to rust.
better car to put your money on rather than the flimsy marutis, rattly tatas, non performing fords..etc..
bye
