I frankly don't see the link, but evidently the name 'Petra' is inspired from the prosperous and flourishing town of Petra; located in present-day Jordan, which grew rich from the spice trade.
Now you know: Fiat Petra was first launched in Egypt.

PETRA means "ROCK" . Being built like a vault, PETRA is probably an apt name
